- A lark lives in the bogs. She is a small bird about the size of a robin. She builds her nest in the side of cruckawn out of keeb. She lays four small spotted eggs. She hatches on them three weeks. Then the young birds come out. She feeds them on worms and seeds. In summer she goes round singing through the sky. She is the best singer of the birds. She goes up into the sky till she can't be seen yet she can be heard. After a time she comes down slowly but keeps singing till she lands on a turf stack or a cruckawn.
