Dromore to meet the car. But when he got there, to his surprise, the car had left a half a hour before for Sligo. He was afraid then, when he was late, he would loose his job.
So he started off running in pursuit of the car. He ran on until he caught up to the car at Beltra and handed his bag to the driver. He had run about ten miles in a half an hour.
In a week's time a great runner from Donegal came to have a run with him for a prize of ten pounds. They decided to run from Dromore to Easkey. They both left Dromore together and Paddy made his journey and met the other man half way and he on his journey back. He got his prize of ten pounds and a reward of a large pension while he lived.
