a man is selling a foal or a horse he must have a web halter on him and the buyer must get it with the horse because they say it would not be lucky.
September and October fairs are the best for fat cattle out of the grass. March fairs are the best for buying stores and selling stall fed cattle. Only sheep are sold at Ardnaglass on the 21st June, July, August, September and October. The nearest horse fairs are at Ballisadare and Carrignagat, Bonhams and sheep are sold at every cattle fair. There is a market in Dromore West for fat pigs every Monday morning.
