The dockleaf will cure the sting of the nettle. We give groundsel to the goldfinch. Some people say that ferns cause red-water in cattle. A poultice of comfrey is good for a sprain or a broken bone. We make jam of whorts. We gather forawns and boil them for the pigs.
The glasarlean grows in damp places and would kill goslings. The meadow sweet makes the churn very hard to be made. (Green spurge makes the churn very hard to be made.) Green spurge would kill trout in a river. The roots of the bulrushes are used for (cl) colouring wool to make frieze. Finnavone or bog-moss is good for reducing a swelling or a lump.
We eat pignuts raw when we get them in mossy banks. They are about the size of a bean. We scrape crotul off the stones, boil it and it makes a khaki colour.
