    As I was leaving Cloonacool I viewed those hills once more.
    It was then I parted with all my friends at the crossroads of Carrowmore.
    As I was going off by train many a thought went through my mind
    But the heaviest thought amongst them all was the home I left behind.

    I viewed along old Ireland until
    I came to Queenstown quay.
    It was there I took the steamer bound
    for America.
    I ploughed the broad Atlantic unto a
    foreign cliab.
    Farewell, Farewell to Cloonacool and the homes I left behind.

    We landed safe from danger on Columbia's lovely shore
    To seek out for employment as thousands did before.
