    Before he left the shop he saw a little terrier in the kitchen. He got to like it and brought it with him. Outside the door the strange horsemen were still waiting for him. He again mounted, bringing in his arms the little dog. He was home again in the course of a few minutes.
    The little dog he bought with him was an object of curiosity to everyone who saw him. He had a gold chain about his neck and attached to it was a locket.
    A local gentleman took a fancy to the dog and with much regret Delaney decided to let him have him.
    Some months afterwards this gentleman gave a big party to which the guests from different parts were invited.
    Among these was an army officer home with his regiment from the West Indies. The little dog
