    He alluded to a dream he had as follows-
    One night on my bed I lay
    Quite wearied with the toil of day
    Reflecting on a tyrants sway
    And wrapt in contemplation
    Methought on Brandons lofty hill,
    I sat beside a purling rill
    Each soft and whispering breeze was still
    And silent was all nature
    He had a desire for drink and he used be often very sick after an overdose. On one occasion being asked what was wrong with him he said-
    I'm weak in my members
    My spirits are low
    And scarce can I iwrite those few verses
    As cold as the waters my blood seems to flow
    And moves with constraint through my vessels
    My senses do wander, I suffer great pain
    Still I am quite unconscious of any complaint
    Thy judgement Oh God, must always remain
    Because it was caused by the bottle
