He pretended to be dead because he was afraid he would be sent to jail or that his father would be put out of his land.
At last the old man called his servants and they tried to bring him to life but it was no use until they forced a spoon of whiskey between his teeth.
It was only then he started to revive. They took him into the big house and gave him brandy and plenty nice food. He went home quietly without his hurley.- Collector
