Long ago people would put two hazel nuts into a gallon of water and name a pair, one of each sex, and if the two nuts met that was a sign the pair would get married. - V
They used put a pan of water in some part of the floor with an apple and a coin in it. Each player should blindfold himself and that being done the pan of water would be changed to a different place. Then the player would go round the floor and stop where he thinks the pan is. If he guesses the right place he'll get the apple and the coin.VI
