down the side of the mountain.
The soldiers thought it was the man that fell and galloped after him down the mountain.
They were all killed in one spot on a big rock. The man hid in a corner of a rock until morning. When he came out silently he saw one of them stuck on a bush.
The soldier asked him to save him.
O'Connor said "If I save you, you will kill me." "No," said the soldier, "here is my sword."
O'Connor then taking the sword and cutting the bush said "I will let you go along with the rest."
The place is known in the district as the "Protestants Fall."
The rock on which the solders brains were dashed out still retains its yellow brown colour and can be seen for miles around.
