  1. A person can get married any time of the year except in Lent.
    It is unlucky to get married on a Friday Money is given as fortune and sometimes stock is given.
    The people used to make an oatmeal cake and when the bride and groom would come home after they were married a man would meet them and break the cake over their heads for good luck.
    A wedding feast is held in the brides house.
    Straw boys visit the house. They are dressed with straw hats and coats.
    They are welcomed by the people of the house and they all dance.
    The people attending the wedding road each other on horse back home, and the wives used to sit on horses with husbands in this district long ago.
