  1. The farmers of this locality form their own? opinions of the weather. They are very well up in weather lore and on this account they are seldom caught in a storm.
    When there is a blue blaze in the fire according to the people of the locality it is a sure sign of storm. When a dog eats grass it will rain before long.
    Some people believe that if the noise of the sea can be heard far inland stormy weather will follow. If the robin is very high on a tree in the morning good weather may be expected. If a cat washes behind her ears we will have a rainy day.
