    Sir Fredrick Hamilton came to Sligo looking for revenge. He burned the Abbey and precious articles that were in the monastry.
    The Castle of the O' Connors is in Castle St. in Sligo where the National Bank now stands. The O' Connors and the O' Donnells were always trying to take the Castle from each other and in the end the O' Donnells burned it rather than give it to the English.
