A newly married couple went to live in one of the houses on the Fort. They had a baby girl whom they loved tenderly. One night the fairies took the sleeping child from her mother's side. The fairies had the baby in the kitchen when the mother awoke and said,
"God Bless My Baby." At that moment they left the baby on a chair by the fireside and there the mother found it in the morning. Every night after that the mother sprinkled Holy Water on the child and no harm befell it.
