  1. A nun in the Mercy Convent , Sligo , learned the following prayers from her grandmother a native of the Galway Gaedhealtacht.
    Ag coigilt na teine
    Coiglim an teine seo
    Mar choigil Críost cách
    Brighid fé n-a bun,
    Is Mac Mhuire ‘ n-a lár ,
Na trí Aingle is mí cumhachta
    I gCuirt na nGrást
Ag cumhdach ‘s ag coimeád an tigh seo
    ‘Sa mhuinntir go lá .
    ( Ag luighe )
    Go luighim le Dia
    Is go luighidh Dia liom
    Nár luigheadh leis an olc
Is nár luigheadh an t-olc liom .
    Crios Bhrigide fé mo lár
    Brat Mhuire fé mo cheann
Tar, a Mhichil oigh is glac mo lámh
Is dean mo shíochthan le Mac na nGrást.
Má tá droch-nidh ar bith in mo dhiaidh-sé
Cuirim Mac Dé idir mé féin
    Agus é féin
