- (continued from previous page)His loss she deeply mourns,
Lamenting for her husband
That never will return.'Twas in the churchyard of Kilglass,
The consecrated ground.
Surrounded by his mourning friends,
Poor Walsh he was laid down.Waiting for poor Conlon,
Who was not discovered yet.
But as they were good friends in life,
They'll be side by side in death.Let us praise the Almighty God.
The Lord Who reigns on high.
And witness their great tragedy,
For they are soaring high.A grant to Walsh and Conlon,
Who were drowned at Enniscrone.
The place they have not traversed yet
Around thy holy Throne.
The author of this poem was Mick Nicholson, who was born in the County Mayo, and spent part of his life shoe making in County Sligo.(continues on next page)- Collector
