- A mote in the eye was and is cured in this district by a man called Mr John Lynch Farniharpy, Skreen, Co, Sligo. The cure is:- get a cup and saucer take a drink of water and the man that has the cure says prayers and when he has finished the mote leaves the eye.
- Toothache was and is cured in this district. The last boy that cured it was John Edie James. He got a frog and put him in his mouth and he never had toothache since that day. It was when going to school he got the frog.
