  1. Song (continued)

My true love's face is as bright

    (continued from previous page)
On a green hill-side where the rebel slept and the sires sank to rest
In misty eight when the pike sank
deep in the saxon yoeman's breast.
She loves to tell of the gallant
band that fell in the mountain
    path.
And each light burns bright to adorn
the heart of my own dear "cailin"
    deas."
My true love's voice is like an
angel's voice and great is her love
    for green.
She often told me it would'nt be
long until Ireland would be free.
She told me for to wait and watch
and the time would come to pass
When every girl would have a heart
Like my own dear "cailin deas"
