- There was once a woman in Cloonagh who had a baby girl. One day se brought the child in her arms with her for a walk. They were walking through the fort which was very near their house and the child fell out of her arms. After she fell in the fort she got very old-looking and thin. One day as the woman was washing her child a neighbouring woman came in and asked her who was she washing and she said I am washing my own child. No you are not thats not your own child it is a fairy. The poor mother did not believe this news. A few days later her sister came in and they said they would make sure whether she was a fairy or not(continues on next page)
