    8. On Hallow ee'n night a boy or girl would be blindfolded and brought out to the garden to pull yarrow which they put under their pillows. It is thought that this will cause them to dream about their future husband. They might get a salt herring and eat it in three bites, bones and all, and go to bed and dream.
    9. A ring was put in a cake for Hallow E'en. Whoever got it was sure to be married first.
    10. If anyone spilled salt accidentally it was the custom to throw a grain over the left shoulder the bring back the Luck.
