the Swallows are seen flying low it is a sign of rain. In this district when the people see the Crane or Heron flying inland they look on it as a sign of bad weather and when flying towards the sea it is a sign of good weather. When the wild geese go up towards the mountains in November it is a sign of storm and if the curlew cries loud at night it is a sign of storm also.
The old people tell a story that when Our Lord was dying on the cross a robin came to Him and a drop of blood fell on his breast and that is the reason he has a red breast.
