- Different places have different names, an on our farm in the townland of Stonehall we have a field, and it is a very big one and at the top there is an old fort.
This fort is like where people dug and dug until they had a number of holes made and they heaped the clay up in front.
So this field is called the Fort Field because of the big fort that is there.
In the townland of Lugawarry there is a big rock on an mountainous place and the land round the rock is called the Giants land.
