When mountains are a dark purple it is a sign of rain 11. When smoke comes up the chimney and turns down it is a sign of rain.

   (d) Cat scratches leg of chair or table
   (e) Goats come down from the mountain
   (f) Soot falls down
   (g) Flags and stone floors "weep"
   (h) Mist descends on the mountain

   (a) A robin comes into the house
   (b) Starlings gather near the haggard
   (c)
   3. Signs of Thunder
   (a) White edge on clouds or red tinge through them
   4. When a Rainbow appears early in the week weather breaks during the week.
   5. Good Weather
   (a) To hear a bell ringing at a distance
   (b) To hear the train at a distance
   (c) Mist rising up off the hills
