Money was not always given for goods obtained. People used to exchange things such as potatoes and do work in return.
Hucksters used to come to my district long ago, they used to sell things and they used also gather, feathers, bones and bottles. They usually had an ass and cart for carrying the things.
There was a market held in Collooney long ago. It was held in the market house on every Friday. The people used to sell butter, cabbage, potatoes and every kind of vegetables at it. The towns people were the most that used to buy them. The names that the people had on the coins were different to the names that is on them now.
