    Local Fairs
Fairs were held in many places a hundred years ago where they are not now.
About a hundred years ago the people held fairs at barrich na – gat. At first no fairs were held there but the tinkers who had many went there and sold them and those who had not many went into the country and bought horses and donkeys and went to that place with them.
Then the people of the country went there and bought them and the sellers never sold anything but horses and donkeys. The fair is held up to this day but nothing is sold in it only these animals.
Once upon a time, a man went to a fair at which there used to be faction fights. This man thought the fight used be started a ten o’ clock in the morning.
Then he looked at his watch and saw the time. “My God,” he said, “it is ten o’ clock and not a blow struck yet”.
