- There is a lake called Lough Bo in the parish of Geevagh, county of Sligo and barony of Tirerill. This lake gets its name from a lake that is still there, and in this lived a water-cow that used to come out on the grass morning and evening. If she stayed out too long a woman with a red cap and a stool would come and milk her. When she would have her milked she would walk to the lake shore and then disappear.
No sooner than she disappeared the cow came to the shore and also vanished.- Bailitheoir
