- We have no churn at home, but I saw one in a friend's house. It is about 4 1/2 feet high, narrow at the waist and very wide at the bottom, but not quite so wide at the top. It is about ten years old, made of the best oak with hoops all round.
In Summer time the woman churns every day, but in Winter she does so only once a week. Her husband helps her with the churning because it is hard work pulling the dash up and down and she cannot rest or the churning will not be successful.
