    the top of it. He stood up on the cart then and said "Now Tom here's the highest penny on the fair for you". Tom accepted the bargain and sold the cow. He went home very happy. He went in on the door laughing. His mother asked him how much got for the cow. "I got the highest penny on the fair" said Tom showing her the penny. The door was closed against poor Tom, and he had to beg for a living, for the rest of his life.
