time a Grand Jury. This jury was summoned in Ballymote and Boyle whenever there was to be any work done and the jury would decie to give it to a certain man.
The present main road which leads from Ballymote to Boyle was made during the famine years. It was at first intended to be a railway but owing to the disagreement of the parties they did not do that but instead made it into a main road. The wages paid were 4d per day.
