    and singular attraction. Her land was sought by many suitors in marriage. A rich chieftain came to seek her hand. Her father was delighted to see the noble youth, and they settled matters between them. St Attracta's father asked her to marry the chieftain but she refused. She said that she was going to devote her life to the service of God.
    One night she went from home. She brought two companions with her. They went to the plains of Boyle. Here St. Patrick was preaching. She told him the story about her father wanting her to marry. St. Patrick said that he would help her. Her desire was to become a nun. In due time she was professed. She worked hard for her Spouse. She got a hostel built in Boyle. The ruins of her churches may be found at "Killaraght", "Boyle", and "Tuam". There are three wells in this locality one at "Killaraght"
