    would never throw out water after it got dark. If they were throwing it out they would put a coal into it, and they would say, "Tugaidh, Tugaidh uisge salach."
    At present there are a few shoe - makers in this district, but nearly all the people buy their boots or shoes in a shop. There are a good many men in this locality who repair boots and shoes. This has generally been a tradition in their families. There were far more shoe - makers in this district in former times than there are at present.
