    He is now a farmer and employs alot of servants. He was a very reasonable man and had but very few evictions in his time.
    When England claimed Ireland they employed those men and in cases where it could not be had they evicted the family and left them homeless.
    They did not divide the land but sold to the Land Commission and they divided it. The farms were sub - divided in some cases.
    There were other landlords named Herberts. There were different families of these in Kilcow, Killeentierna Cragg and Muckross. They were very crude. The last of the Herbert family was Rector of Killeentierna. He was shot at Lioseenbaan [?] cross.
