- Spinning of flax was the most widespread craft that was carried on in this townland long ago. First of all they used set the seed of the flax in Spring and pull it with the root in Autumn. Next they used bind it into sheaves and put it into a pool of stagnant water and leave it in it for three weeks, this they used call bogging the flax. Then they used take it out and put it drying. After drying it they used bittle it with a "bittle" until they had all the "husk" out of it. Next after having it "bittled" they(continues on next page)
