    Lights have often been seen in forts. A ball of light has often been seen crossing from Aeneas Lane's fort to two other forts across the river. A little girl was going to school one morning. On her way she had to cross a fort. When she was passing a woman came out and called her. Mary was her name. Mary said she was in a hurry to school so she ran away. She told her mother when she went home, so her mother told Mary to ask the woman the next time to give her a cure for cattle as all her cattle were dying.
    Next morning Mary went early and when the woman called her she told her to mix some thing and rub it to the cattle. She then went home and told her mother and the cattle were cured. The mother, being a very clever woman, rubbed it to her children as well. She knew the woman would take her children
