  1. In the western part of my townland there is a field called "Páirc na Ceardcann" because long ago there was a forge there which belonged to a man named Twomey. He was married to a girl named Kate Cahill who came from South Kerry. It is said that Tureencahill got its name from her. There is a field beside Páirc na Cearcann called Páirc Cáit.
    Another field near them is called the Barrack field. The reason it got its name was that at the time of the land-league there was a police
