First of all you have a large pot of clean boiling water then you take your cream tub and scour it with heath for the most part of an hour. Then you rinch it with clear water and then when its ready you pour the clean pot of boiling water into it and cover it over so as to scold it. Then you take your churn, staff, lid, and cup, and scold them also. Then put them out in the air to dry and sweet. This churn was 14 ins wide in the top, 2ft in the bottom.
