If a bride is entering her own home after getting married she should put in her right foot first. If she puts in her left foot first, and stumbles it is unlucky.
It is very unlucky if the car breaks on the way to the Chapel.
In olden times the bride and bridegroom used to throw an old shoe to a certain mark, and if the bridegroom threw the shoe further than the mark it was considered unlucky.
    One step, and then another,
And the longest walk is ended.
