   in any season. He can put the frame on a table and work away until he reaches the second buinne and then put it on two chairs and finish it up with the frame on the floor. There were two handles (iompars as they are called) to the basket. They were made of straw súgán or strips of a bag. If made of súgán they were put in single below the second buinne around a rib and twisted into a doubled rope. If the iompars were made out of a bag each strip was inserted below the second buinne, drawn up inside and a rib was put through a hole in the end of the iompar.

2. An Sciathóg

   The sciathóg is used about the house. Potatoes are strained through it and it is used for drawing turf from the rick to the kitchen fire. It is also used in the picking of potatoes but in this respect it is being replaced by the bucket.
   The Sciathóg consists of a bogha, ribs and wicker work. The bogha is made
