The most common time of the year for wedding is from after Lent to Advent. During the month of February the old people say that this is the month the girls look for man. Most people get married on Wednesday for it is believed to be the best day for getting married. There is an old saying about the days for getting married "Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for crosses, Friday for losses and Saturday no luck at all".
Many people wear white when they are getting married, and more wear blue. The old people say to get married in "something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue.
When people are going to get married if they meet a red haired woman on the road they think it is unluckly. After they are married they usually go on their honeymoon to London or Paris or some of the beauty spots of Ireland.
There is also another custom in this district if a person would not give a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
