    their butter in the market.
We have a dash-churn at home. It is three feet in height and two feet in width. The sides are straight. We have our churn four or five years.
In Summer we churn twice a week; but in Winter we only churn once a week. In Summer the milk thickens at once. In Winter it takes longer to thicken.
It is an old saying; that if a stranger came into the house when you are churning, and if they would not help you to churn, it was said that they could take the butter of the milk.
The buttermilk is used for making bread.
