- Churning is one of the ways to get butter. Butter is got from the milk of the cow. It is used for putting on bread.
We have a churn at home. It is three feet in height and two feet in width. It is three feet in circumference. It is made of oak. There are different kinds of churns, namely, dash churns, end over end churns, spring pole churns and horse churns.
We have a dash churn. We churn once a week in Winter and three times in Summer. Before we churn my mother scalds the churn. Then she puts the thick milk in the churn. Then she puts the dash in and puts on the lid. While churning she puts hot water in the churn(continues on next page)- Collector
