    Outside Carrickmacross there is a townland known as Corcuillogue.

    he heard a shout " What have you in the hat Mr Campbell ". It was a man calling from the adjoining field. Poor Mr. Campbell looked over to answer but alas! when he looked back the fairy was gone and was never seen afterwards. That fort is still to be seen also a large stone but nobody can raise it. Children frequently visit this fort and gaze longingly at the stone and say " if only we could raise that stone as the fairy's gold is under it "
