- About forty years ago Tom McGuigan of Anasera was home from America.St John's night came round and he decided to hold a bonfire. He brought coal and tar and turf. He brought five or six barrels of stout. There was a deck erected. Then the drinking and dancing began. St Marys band played and drinking and dancing carried on until morning. Anyone who was there said it was the best night that ever was in Clontibret. Neal Doran the poet was there and made a song about Listinney Hill. These are a few of the verses of it.
