  1. On the first of October the morning been clear
My horn I did sound and my dogs did appear
I took to the road like a jolly sportsman
With my dogs in good fettle you may understand.
    II
I made no delay but went to the town
Where the rest of the huntsmen they were gathered around
McCabe and Pat Sherry two men of great skill,
Says "boys get your dogs to the top of Boo hill".
    III
We took off the chains and gave them command
For to see the field hunt on the hill we did stand
Old Crowner told on her the first on that day
When out jumped wee pussy Yoo Hoo stole away.
    IV
He held the hair sighted until Dixon's cross
I am afraid says Pat Sherry "her Crogs she will loss"
For puss sat to listen you would think she did say
"All you can give me is on stole away"
