A pome on the landlord."Good Heaven! What sorrows gloomed the parting day
That called them from their native walks away;
When the poor exiles, every pleasure passed
Hung round their bowers, and foundly looked there last,
And took a long farewell and wished in vain
For seats like those beyond the western main;
And shuddering still to face the distant deep
The good olf sire the first prepared to go.
The new found worlds, and wept for others woe,
But for himself, in conscious virtue brave
He only wished for words beyond the grave.
His lovely daughter, lowly in her tears
The fond compantion of his helpless years
