    The River Fane flows through Monaghan into Muckno lake and drains Muckno lake in Dundalk Bay.

    Muckno lake is 3½ miles long. There is a number of Islands near this lake. There are two lakes near Castleblayney, St Peter and St Patrick.
    The Cummy is a small river running part of it parallel with the Fane and then into the Fane.
