    You nymphs and swains of this Irish nation,

    There's no policy used by this fair creature,
    Like other females to ensnare young men,
    Her smiles are darts which she throws around,
    Can I blame the maid from Rockcorry Town.
    No costly robes dyed in foreign countries,
    Nor embroiderd head - dress this maid did wear,
    Nor silks nor hosiery nor Spanish shoes
    On the dewy grass her neat foot went bare
    But poverty cant eclipse the beauty
    Where - with kind nature does freely frown
    Now ladies pardon me it is my duty,
    To extoll the maid from Rockcorry Town.
