  1. In the middle of a glen in the townland of Corlick where Mass was said in the Penal Days there is a well. It is small & quite round, & the water which is said to be poisonous, has a very rancid taste. For this reason it is guarded round by bushes for fear of strangers drinking from it. It is said that the devil appears at it every night, & people do not care to go near it after dark.
