  1. Long ago the buyers used come to the farmer's house to buy animals. There were big fairs held long ago that are discontinued now. There used to be a big fair held on the 28th March and another on the 1st May and are not held now. When cattle are sold luck money is given. For a horse £1 is given and 1s for a bonham and 4/= to 10/= for a cow. There is toll given going into the fair-green 2d or 3d for cattle and a ½d for a bonham. The cattle are marked with mud and hair is clipped off them.
