    grew over fields and houses until it was so long that it came to his a wood. The other soldier was passing through the wood and he saw the nose. He followed it and came to his comrade stretched under the apple tree. The little man reappeared and told him to eat three pears off a tree that was near by and his nose would soon be its proper size.
    Then he dressed up as a gardener's boy gathered a box of apples and went to the King's palace. He gave them to the Princess and they were so sweet that she ate six. Her nose began to grow out through the window and across a mountain.
    The King offered a rich reward to anyone who would cure his daughter. The soldier dressed up as a doctor and went to the palace and promised to cure the Princess. He chopped an apple and gave it to her and said he would come
